Tips for Better Conversation
Watch the Speaker:
Pay attention to their facial expressions and body language for better understanding.
Ask for Clarification:
If unclear, repeat what you heard to ensure comprehension.
Choose the Right Distance:
Stay at a comfortable distance to facilitate hearing.
Be Proactive:
Ask for repetition or specify unclear parts, and suggest a quieter setting if needed.
Suggest a Quieter Location:
If it’s noisy, propose moving to a quieter place for better communication.
Helpful Phrases
“Could you please speak a bit more slowly?”
“It’s easier for me to follow if I can see your lips.”
“Could you speak a bit louder?”
“Please make sure to face me while you’re talking.”
“I didn’t catch the beginning of what you said. Could you repeat that, please?”
“Did you say [restate what you thought you heard]? I want to ensure I understood you correctly.”
“Could you reword the last sentence?”
“Can we find a quieter place to continue this conversation?”
