What dissolves ear wax immediately?

If you are planning to have your ear wax professionally removed using micro-suction, we generally do not require you to use drops beforehand. In some cases, certain drops can make the wax very soft and sticky, which can actually make it more difficult to remove.

If you would like to use something at home, we recommend plain olive oil or olive oil–based ear drops, like Clean Ears. Olive oil helps loosen wax from the walls of the ear canal rather than making it overly soft. This often allows for easier and cleaner removal during your appointment.

If your ear feels blocked, painful, or your hearing has suddenly changed, it’s best to have it assessed rather than repeatedly using drops.
