Our Team

Meet Dr Emma Batrouney (Heale), Au.D.

Opening an audiology practice in Melbourne is a dream come true for me. I grew up in this area, went to school and university here, and have spent the last few years working as an audiologist. I have strong ties to this community. To now be a local business owner providing an essential service is truly exciting.

I have recently joined the board of the Hearing Business Alliance (HBA). HBA advocates and provides business support to independent audiology clinic owners.

I graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Clinical Audiology. More recently, I completed a Graduate certificate of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Marketing. In 2025, I completed my Doctor of Audiology and my learnings from this have enhanced our practice at Hear and Clear Care.

I’m passionate about hearing health. It’s a vital part of many people’s quality of life and plays a big role in our ability to connect with the environment we live in. I understand completely the frustration and isolation that comes as a result of hearing loss; it’s not uncommon to feel like you’re losing connections with family and friends.

I take great pleasure in guiding people on their hearing care journey. My training coupled with the latest audiological technology ensures that my clients find positive outcomes and see substantial improvements to their communication.

Outside of the clinic, Emma is an avid golfer, foodie and enjoys spending time her husband, Mark and puppy, Riley.

Meet Bella Richardson

I’m the most recent addition to the Hear and Clear Care Team, and I’m excited to be working in a community I’ve known and loved for so long. I grew up in this area and feel incredibly lucky to now be supporting local people with their hearing health.

I graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science, a Graduate Certificate of Agricultural Science, and a Master of Clinical Audiology. I’ve always loved learning, and audiology is the perfect career to keep growing—especially with the constant advances in hearing technology and care. I also enjoy working with children and supporting them in building strong communication skills from an early age.

With my family living in country Victoria, my weekends often take me to the farm near sunny Seymour. I love spending time on the river and getting involved in the local community. I also have a chocolate labrador, Pud, who is full of beans and keeps me on my toes!

I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with the world around them through better hearing. It’s incredibly rewarding to support someone on their hearing journey and see the difference it makes in their day-to-day life. I look forward to meeting you in the clinic and working together toward positive hearing outcomes.

Meet Joanne Somerville

I graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Economics and I’m a current member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Institute of Corporate Governance. I’ve garnered a lot of experience over the years, working as a Manager in professional services, hospitals, and more recently as a Executive Manager Finance in a not-for-profit aged care facility.

I greatly enjoy working with Emma to create a successful audiology practice. I love nothing more than having the opportunity to put my knowledge and interpersonal skills to good use. I believe the service we provide is an essential one and gives those living with hearing loss much needed support.
